I'm not smart enough to explain exactly why hardcore is such an effective gateway drug to a full-on jazz addiction, but Zach Barocas obviously knows and he is helping me with my problem. Don't miss these guys live! Claire Donner
Zach Barocas is one of my favorite drummers ever. If he announced that he was going to air drum in a mime group, I'd find a way to watch him perform. Thankfully, he sticks with bands that actually make noise, so I can get their albums. Bells≥ are an instrumental group, but that doesn't mean boring. They do things that could be construed as arty or jazzy, but they are definitely rock. They experiment with space and quiet, but they definitely groove. Jeremy Withers
The new Tuung album is a timely set of moody folktronica meditations examining death and grief, accompanied by a podcast on the same themes. Bandcamp New & Notable Sep 1, 2020
Rarities from the 15-year career of the U.K. group who've melded pop, folk, electronica, and prog into their own signature brew. Bandcamp New & Notable May 7, 2019
Reminiscent of so much that is good, yet totally fresh. It’s as if Coltrane or John Lurie crashed a lunch date between Tito Puente and John Adams.... and they ALL sing as well!!!
